Birth Support

Consultation: I will initially meet with you and your partner (if applicable) either virtually or in person. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine whether I am a good match for you as you move forward with your pregnancy. It is also a chance for me to learn what sort of support you are looking for and to explain my services in more detail.

Prenatal Visits: Two prenatal visits will take place to help everyone involved in the birth to be as prepared as possible. During the first visit, we will discuss and finalize a birth plan. The second visit will focus on learning comfort measures and other techniques to prepare for labor.

Labor and Delivery: I will arrive at either your home or birthing location once active labor begins and will remain with you until after your baby is born. I will provide informational, physical, and emotional support to you and your partner during this time.

Postpartum Visits: Two postpartum visits will take place after you and your new baby are settled in at home. The first will be within a few days after the birth to assist with and answer questions about infant care, breastfeeding, postpartum depression, or any other baby-related needs that you and your partner have at that time. This visit is also an opportunity to process and discuss the birth experience. The second visit will be four to six weeks postpartum and is a final visit to make sure your family is adjusting well and to take care of any final questions or concerns.

Continuous Support: During pregnancy, I will be available 24/7 by phone, email, and virtual meetings (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.) to discuss any problems, answer questions, provide support and referrals as necessary, and follow up after appointments with your care provider.

Postpartum Support

For families who choose to have doula support during the postpartum period, Planet Birth offers packages according to the number of hours desired. All packages include the following:
